Ardmore provides cosy farm style accommodation, with a dinner, bed & breakfast service. A total of 9 units, situated either in individually designed rondawels, or in one of the mountain view cottages. All have a fireplace, fan, tea/coffee making facilities and all are en-suite. Guests can choose between "Garden View" accommodation – a large thatch rondawel with a queen bed, en suite bathroom with bath and shower, and a cosy fireplace, OR "Mountain view Cottage" (1, 2 or 3 bedrooms) which has a four poster queen bed, en suite with bath and shower and a lounge with fireplace. Heated bathrooms, oil heaters in all rooms, log fires and a full-time chef are all part of the "Ardmore" scene. Your hosts are the owners, Paul and Sue Ross, who stay in a separate dwelling.
Dining:
Wake up to a traditional farmhouse breakfast served on the verandah overlooking Ardmore's lovely garden. Lunch, snacks and drinks can be ordered in the tea garden. Later on join your hosts and other guests for a lantern-lit four-course meal with complimentary wine, served in our Yellowwood dining room (dress informal), or enjoy well-deserved sundowners in our cosy pub in the evening, (guests are welcome to bring their own drinks).
Activities on the farm:
Ardmore has its own "Amangwe Craft Centre" which exhibits only KwaZulu-Natal craft, it has the largest known collection of traditional Amangwe Zulu beadwork. The internationally respected "Ardmore Ceramic Art Studio" is next to the Guesthouse, and is open to visitors 7 days a week. About 70 local Zulu artists work in the studio, and more than 200 pieces can be seen in the guest house. You can also enjoy swimming in our swimming pool, mountain biking and walks on the farm. Also available, is a games room with table-tennis & badminton. Volley ball on the lawn is always popular. There is also a large farm dam with plenty of bass, so you can try your hand at fishing (Mountain bikes and fishing rods are available to guests at no extra charge).
